New Year Message. Brushing those annual oaths.

My message in the so-called 'New Year.' Sometimes you don't have to limit yer capability to just an annual rate. Cheers dearies! =p

In my English:
The calendar caged time, days & the earth's rotation, to provide us a system for organising events & occasions, and for planning things we want to do. Hope & change for a better life will always be there, no matter what figure your calendar, Lunar or Solar, shows. So live your life that every time you wake up, there's hope & good change. A meaningful new year to all. Happy New Year!

In my Filipino:
Happy New Year!!!

A quickie.

I'm going for this 'quickie' post cos an hour from now i'll be driving all the way to Masbate province for some work. It's a 13 hour drive with 3 hours ship travel.

I haven't been much on my desk neither on my computer for more than a week because the ground floor of our family's house where my room is located got the dear ol' flood, now higher than ever. So i spent the whole week after the typhoon cleaning, salvaging, restoring and relocating the ground floor, the kitchen, my room and all the things in it. I'll get into specifics when i get back in the Metro. Hopefully. =p

While doing all that task i remember the lines from Dean Dimalanta's Unobstructed View:

'it is as if i were seeing
the world beautifully void,
with new eyes, new soul.
all the clutter and din
and stringencies of past lifetimes
wiped out sheet-clean. nothing is there.'

I know the tragedy, through house fire, of the author as well as those in the Marikina & Rizal areas does not compare to mine. There are just some small rate similarities of what i felt and what i am feeling. Especially with the clutter and the somewhat fresh spectacles looking at my life.

'Now I begin to re-establish
links, re touch, re-focus
as I pen the text of new days'

And now, I'm gonna be on my farthest driving trip with my dearest cousin who is currently feeling disillusioned with his life abroad & with a snap caught a plane back here in the country for some thinking & whatever he has in mind. What a situation & company ennit'?

So all the best for us and let's look at tragedies and say in their face...

Up yours! =p

Unpopular

Twitting the other day and i saw a take on Vampires by no other than the Great Lord Neil Gaiman.

Excerpts:
Where are we now, in the grand vampire cycle?
Vampires go in waves, and it kind of feels like now we're finishing a vampire wave; at the point where they're everywhere. It's proba
bly time to go back underground for another 20 or 25 years.

They’ve reached the saturation point.
I think so, and it definitely sort of feels like classical vampires have been around enough that if they could go back in their coffins, the next time they come out [they could] mean
something really different. That would be cool.

Yes. I myself have been telling friends that Vampires have had too much sunlight already. After their peak with Eminent Anne Rice, yer usual action & parody with the likes of Blade 1-3 & Dracula Dead & Loving It, it’s really time that they go back to them coffins with a stake to their... you decide where.

Next day, was looking on updates about the King of Darkness himself Stephen King & I saw a bit similar interview. And fortunately, he had something to say about the p
opular Twilight’s author.

Excerpt:

"The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meye
r can't write worth a darn. She's not very good,"

Wow. That’s ‘straight from the elbow!’ Guts from the master eh?! Oh and yes, of course, i myself do loathe Twilight and all its manifestations.

Ya, i know, many of you especially my friends, & on my estimate half of the world do not conform with my judgement. But it’s all right, it’s but natural to disagree & have counter sentiments on different matters. We are after all ‘free’ to think and decide, yeah? And i do respect yours too. You fans can shout all you want that you like this & people like me can also shout sh!ts about this plague ruining humanity especially the kids with them Twilight bags & stickers. As one of the great professors puts it “we can disagree without being disagreeable.”

But the thing is, I HAVE THE GIANTS ON MY SIDE (in this matter at least). They give maggots like me a sense of confirmation that however unpopular one’s perspective is, it’s still somewhat reasonable, valid & a source of force. So, don’t be afra
id to be unpopular, you never know who’s standing right by you. =p
